Collaborate with our Trials Team

The LifeArc Centre for Acceleration of Rare Disease Trials (ARDT) includes a team dedicated to running trials in rare diseases. We are seeking proposals for clinical trials to be run by the ARDT team, and the affiliated Clinical Trials Units:

We welcome proposals for clinical trials that evaluate treatments for patients with rare diseases. We can work with investigators to develop trial designs, apply for funding, manage trials, and report and disseminate results. Our preference is to adopt trials fully, and take on all aspects of their conduct, but we are also open to requests for help with specific aspects of trials.

We recommend you approach us as early as possible for collaboration with funding applications, at least 12 weeks prior to the funding deadline (if one has been identified prior to proposal suggestion). Proposals for collaboration are considered by the ARDT committee who meet on a regular basis to review proposals.

Key criteria for considering collaboration:

  1. Evaluation of a treatment for rare disease
  1. Credible intervention with plausible potential
  1. Potential to change clinical practice
  1. Alignment with priorities of ARDT and LifeArc

If you would like to propose a clinical trial to be run in collaboration with ARDT, please download and complete the form linked to the left and submit it to us at centreardt@contacts.bham.ac.uk along with any supporting documentation.
